Cranleigh Scout Executive Committee have decided to name their HQ as the Tom Worsfold Memorial Hall at a short ceremony at 7.30pm on Tuesday 21st May in recognition of his 40 years of service to the Scout Group and village. The renaming by Davey Worsfold will be followed by our AGM and refreshments.
Please notify any interested villages who would like to be present especially those who knew Tom and remember him fondly. Please assemble on the green by the Scout Hall – parking is free after 7pm. (Tom would like that ! )

Thanks for those who helped on the Mabac Run in March. The Scout group have received a generous £1000 donation for providing four water stations for the very appreciative runners.
The next opportunity to help raise funds for the group will be on Sunday 30th June where we attend to the car parking for the Cranleigh Show. Two hour slots from 10am you may well be rewarded with a complimentary show ticket. Email Colin or Dave to express your interest. Children under 14 years not permitted to assist – Show rules.
Our Group receives a considerable amount of funds by providing 3 water stations for the 15/21 mile road race on 31st Sunday March – Race Starts 9am Mothers Day and clock go back as well.
It’s a great family activity – poring water into cups and handing to grateful runners as they plod bye. Take my word it’s really good fun – water action and smiles.

At the Village Remembrance Day Service the local churchs together group handed out a number of a souvenir Gospel tracks which the Tommy’s were given during the Great War. Many people failed to get a copy as they were quickly all given out. We now have a few available and they are in the lobby of Scout HQ in the box labelled gift aid. Please help yourself. DS
All Beaver, Cubs and Scouts to meet at the Scout HQ in Village Way at 9.45pm in full and proper uniform.
Poppies and metal lapel badges will be available – donations to Poppy Appeal.
To parade to the War Memorial for Centenary Service – collect from Legion/ Sports club Car Park after 11.30am

Tom Worsfold funeral will be at St Nicolas Church at 1.30pm on Wednesday 21st November.
Followed by internment at the cemetery and a wake at Cranleigh School dining hall.
All are welcome please wear Scout uniform as applicable.
